If a person becomes too incapacitated to take care for themselves, a person can apply to become their conservator to manage their affairs. To become a conservator, a petition is filed with the court and the court determines whether it is appropriate to appoint a conservator for the incapacitated person. If a conservator is appointed, the conservator manages the assets and affairs of the files an inventory of the incapacitated person’s affairs until he or she regains capacity or dies. |
